  • Potential Improvement Building and SF:
This is a count of those buildings and their SF with a Benchmark Ratio greater than 0.85. The belief is that buildings can easily achieve an EUI of slightly better than the existing building energy code that B3 Benchmarking is using. MN B3 Benchmarking is currently using ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2004.
  • Potential Savings MMBtu:
For those buildings that have a Benchmark Ratio greater than 0.85, the difference between their actual EUI and 0.85 of the Benchmark EUI is then determined to be the potential savings converted from kBtu to MMBTU.
  • Potential Annual $ Savings:
The potential savings MMBtu is then converted to annual dollars savings by multiplying the MMBtu by the average fuel cost rate using all buildings in the database.
